Compartment 16
This triton shell was in the linen closet on the second floor, with the toy blocks and slide reels and linens. It probably came from a trip somewhere or maybe a curiosity store.
My grandfather Henry liked to collect natural rarities, like minerals, shells, or fossils. He sometimes gave them as gifts to us grandchildren. I still love rocks and fossils, probably partially because of his legacy. I also like shells, though less so.
This one stood out because of its storage location. It was really buried in the closet. It’s a pretty nice shell. Maybe it came from the same store, or the same vacation, as the coral hunk on the top shelf.
